My friend, Rachel, and I were approached by my teacher to do this since she was in charge of the graces camp booklet.

The idea was to have a ‘heart’based design, to represent graciousness, which really is the basis of graces, instead of graceful as projected by designs of women, swans etc.

And the restriction was that it had to be grayscale, to save costs on printing. So all i had to work with white, black and different shades of grey.

This was what i came up with and i still like it pretty much.

I cant remember what happened but we had to change it to a more 3D thing.
so i changed it to this:

Personally i prefer the first design. simplicity is good. The second design is too black and cluttered. and what made it worse was the horrible printing as expected which didn’t differentiate the shades of grey, so the design was practically full black which was quite bad
